Raleigh, N.C. – Since its 2016 launch, VitalSource Content Studio™ has become a trusted interactive authoring platform for publishers of all sizes, higher-education and K-12 institutions, and corporations and professionals looking to create learning content for their employees.
Building on its initial success, VitalSource Content Studio 2.0 expands the EPUB 3 authoring tool’s capabilities with legacy content conversion and one-click publishing, allowing content creators to preview and publish their responsive and accessible EPUB 3 content directly into VitalSource’s award-winning Bookshelf® platform, and makes updates and revisions faster and easier. VitalSource Content Studio 2.0 also embeds the WIRIS math editor, enabling authors to create complex math notation that provides full accessibility support on the Bookshelf platform.
“Enabling creation of highly interactive and natively responsive and accessible content is at the core of our mission with VitalSource Content Studio,” said Pep Carrera, VitalSource COO. “For so many reasons, the ability to create digital-first content is important to the higher education, K-12 and professional learning ecosystems. There is an expectation of interactivity to boost learner engagement that can only be delivered in digital-first content. Accessibility for learners of all abilities has always been a priority for VitalSource and, with these new formats and offerings, there are so many more ways for content creators to ensure access for all students.”
VitalSource Content Studio outputs content as EPUB 3 that can instantly be distributed globally in VitalSource's Bookshelf, or any compliant reader. The content produced is fully responsive on desktop, tablet, or smartphone screen sizes, enables interactivity, and supports industry-standard accessibility requirements. The content is also available online or offline through Bookshelf’s mobile or desktop applications and enables access to notes and highlights.
“Being able to create high quality interactive Information Technology Infrastructure Library courseware without coding experience, VitalSource Content Studio has enabled us to take our business global, and deliver a complete package that works both online and offline for our customers," said Pelle Rastock, product manager at Aim4Knowledge AB, a company that offers training solutions for service organizations.
