VitalSource Hires Smith to Enhance Support for Campus Stores

Raleigh, N.C. (August 31, 2017) – VitalSource Technologies LLC is pleased to announce the hire of R. Todd Smith as its Manager of Campus Store Partnerships. In this role, Smith will oversee the company’s relationships with independent college retailers and bookstore trade groups.

Smith has worked in bookstores for more than two decades, and began his career in 2000 as an assistant manager at the Macon State (Georgia) College Bookstore, where he also served as manager and then retail director. He moved from Macon State to the University of Georgia Bookstore in 2007, where he was associate director. In 2010, he became manager of the Clayton State University Bookstore, which soon after changed its name to the Loch Shop. He was promoted to Director of Campus Store Services in 2012.

The Loch Shop received Honorable Mention for the NACS Collegiate Retailer of the Year Award in 2013.

Smith recently completed his three-year term on the National Association of College Stores (NACS) Board of Trustees. During his last year, he served as the Chair of both the Education Committee and the Membership and Bylaws Committee. He currently serves on the Board of the NACS Foundation. Additionally, he was selected President of the Georgia Association of College Stores in October 2016.
