I am delighted to share that VitalSource is an Equity Champion Sponsor of eLiterate’s recently launched AI Learning Design Assistant (ALDA) Design/Build Workshop series.
To quote our friend Michael Feldstein in his announcement, “this pioneering initiative that brings together a diverse group of colleges and universities to collaboratively tackle the pressing challenges of learning design. This initiative extends beyond standard prompt engineering techniques, inviting participants to participate in co-designing a functioning AI application that we will build and refine throughout the series. It offers participants a unique opportunity to directly influence the development of solutions that will reshape the landscape of educational technology.”
As part of the workshop series, participating institutions will get the chance to create technologies and tools that will expand their course offerings, impact student outcomes, and drive innovation in higher ed. We will also be sharing with participants how we have accelerated and improved our development of learning features through the application of appropriate AI tools.
We are happy to sponsor participation from our friends at the University of Central Florida. Alongside Martha Hubertz, Ph.D., associate lecturer of psychology at UCF, our team of learning scientists has been researching the effectiveness of AI generated questions, the power of instructor implementation, and the impact of student engagement on outcomes. After years of successful partnership, we’re excited to see what this next step will lead to as we work with eLiterate and the cohorts participating in ALDA.
At VitalSource, we believe that incorporating AI based on learning science principles and backed by research, has the power to impact student success globally. The shift to digital has opened the promise of equity, affordability, and a learning advantage for every student.
