Kent Freeman

Kent Freeman is the Chief Executive Officer of VitalSource Technologies. Kent was named the President of VitalSource in 2019 and led VitalSource through the successful sale to Francisco Partners in 2021. He previously led VitalSource from 2009 to 2016, guiding the company through its transition to become the leading education technology company it is today.

Kent has decades of experience as a digital content supply chain expert and innovator having served in a variety of positions for Ingram Content Group over 30 years including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Ingram Digital Group, Senior Vice President for Business Development of Ingram Book Group, and Chief Technology Officer of Ingram Book Group. He has served as Chair of the Book Industry Study Group, a non-profit organization that provides research and standards development for the book industry, and as Chair of the Book Industry Systems Advisory Committee.

Kent attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems and Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University.
